Born and raised in Denver, Colorado by a Polish father and Irish mother, my childhood was filled with creativity, personal explorations of life, and imagination. Denver offered a mix of people from different cultures and different walks of life. I cherished my friendships with Mexican, Polish, Russian, German, and Native American families. This led me to learn more about the uniqueness of each family's cultural heritage, especially the artistic and religious side of that uniqueness.

My father, who as a child, migrated with his parents to Pennsylvania at the turn of the twentieth century, provided much of the impetus for my explorations. My visits to my grandparents on the farmland they owned nearby Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, opened up new avenues for me to learn about my personal family heritage, skills that both my grandfather and my father possessed. My father was an excellent craftsman able to produce anything in wood and metal, while my mother was always talented in handcrafts of different sort, from sewing, needle point, drawings and paintings.

My mother's family migrated from Ireland to New York City, and from there to Denver where they eventually created a new home and settled down. I knew only my grandmother whose beautiful singing voice I fondly remember even to this very day.

Through my college years in Denver I took a great interest in the natural sciences and experiments in the lab. I thought my career would be in engineering. I continued painting and drawing in my free time, and it gave me great pleasure to combine my scientific path of life with the creative and artistic side of myself.

Beginning a very early path of parenting, (a proud and single father) I raised two beautiful daughters, whom are now in their early twenties. My family life gave me a solid grounding from which to seek new avenues of art and personal expression. With the trips to Mexico, exploration of Native American cave paintings, both petroglyphs and pictographs through the American southwest, my engagement with the east European cultures, from Russia, Yugoslavia to Poland, as well as the Oriental cultures offered new dimensions of living. And I have learned about religious lore, icons and symbols of these countries.

This is how I started engaging myself with the production of sculptural ceramics. I found that clay could speak for itself. My trips to different religious sacred places and spaces, from Yugoslavian monasteries, where I discovered the beauty of fresco paintings, Russian icons, to South Mexican art of the Oaxacan people bringing together Catholic influences and indigenous symbols. All of these led me to find my present work with ceramics.

The inspiration for my paintings and drawings I find especially through my trips to Europe, where medieval European art and art of the post-impressionistic era have inspired my work the most. For years I have been teaching drawing and painting in the Apollo Art Studios in the United States of America..

There is always a lot of space for personal growth and exploration. There are always trips ahead of me and my artwork is constantly evolving. My goal is to touch the lives of many people with my paintings, drawings and sculptural ceramics. The message is that in these times of constant transitions, globalization and rapid change, we ought to seek peace within our hearts, within our families if we want to bring about positive change in this world. The uniqueness and differences of our cultural heritages, artistic expressions, and the places they occupy in our individual lives need to be respected and invested with creativity. I believe that this is the only way we can enrich our lives, and re-establish the balance between the changes being brought in the outside world and in our personal life.
