There is a sacred, sometimes Zen, approach to art, timeless yet living in need to be nurtured. The ancient art was often
created directly from the subliminal or spiritual living consciousness; alive and stemming from the abstract and natural flow or
mirror of our existence, as part of nature, all things.
This root or core must be lived, and the movements of one's hands in the act of creating must be one with insinct or
spontaneous creation. The respect or acknowledgment of a more ancient intelligence instilled in the human spirit/soul/body
must never be lost. It yearns to be reborn, a memory again discovered of what we truly are, an animal and entity among a
universe that is entirely alive, aware and conscious.
Within the pigments, the earthen clay, the fabrics of nature as well as one's hands, dwells the soul and spirit. In the passion and
labor of creation I am but a vehicle, a bridge in which the entity of the sculpture, the drawing or painting comes to life. In each
creation I share the embrace and release the toil and the play. In this act I have found the place in which the spirit manifests
and an entity emerges; in which I am merely guided in its own creation as a character in its own existence, having a mysterious
presence, a consciousness and world vast in its own.
My works stem from this living belief: every moment, every action, is giving, taking, sharing in the experience. To accept and
understand this never-ending journey and the nature of one's life is to live the fire, humbly and in awe, within the winds of this
great mystery.
